MAEGDEN (pronounced may-den) is a feel-good food truck, pitched in a field just down the road from the Giant's Causeway. From early Spring to September, we serve up gourmet grilled cheese, handmade sweet treats, and speciality drinks from the hatch of our little 1950s caravan.
With wide Atlantic views over Bushfoot Strand to Donegal and beyond, there's usually simple outdoor seating for you to break up your Causeway coastal road trip - but in these COVID times, you’ll just have to swing by for some food and drinks to go.
PLEASE DON'T PARK OUT ON THE ROAD though: when our car park's full, we are full. We don't want anyone getting a parking ticket...
Give us a follow on Instagram/Facebook/Twitter @minimaegden for updates / opening times.
OUR GRILLED CHEESE
We serve four grilled cheese options daily, all with a side of our homemade pickles. Whatever the menu, we always want to showcase the best local, independently made and - as far as possible - organic ingredients we can get our hands on. We select all our Irish and British farmhouse cheeses from expert cheesemongers and producers at Sheridan's (Dublin), Toonsbridge Dairy (Cork), Mike's Fancy Cheese (Belfast) and Neal's Yard Dairy (London). And holding together all that oozing cheese is sourdough from master artisan baker, Ricky Hay, at Zac's Bakehouse.
Please message us to check availability of gluten free options before your visit, or bring your own GF bread and we'll do the rest! Unfortunately, we can’t offer vegan cheese options as we only have space for one griddle - and it’s covered in butter for cooking.
OUR SWEET STUFF
We serve up seasonal sundaes or cookie sandwiches featuring ice cream from Drayne's Farm, and a small selection of other sweet stuff - all made by us in our caravan kitchen.
